Altair Colombo

Altair is a prominent residential and commercial development in Colombo, Sri Lanka, comprising two interconnected towers—a 68-floor vertical tower and a 63-floor leaning tower—making it one of the tallest buildings in the city.

Location

Situated at 127 Sir James Peiris Mawatha in Colombo 2, Altair offers residents panoramic views of Beira Lake, the Indian Ocean, and the cityscape. Its prime location ensures proximity to essential urban amenities, enhancing the modern living experience.

Design and Architecture:

Renowned architect Moshe Safdie, in collaboration with Athula Amarasekera of Design Team 3 from Singapore and Thailand, designed Altair. The development features a distinctive diagrid structure, allowing for expansive windows that maximize natural light and airflow, contributing to energy efficiency. The two towers are connected by steel outriggers at levels 39 and 41, with the leaning tower inclined at 13.8 degrees, creating a cascading effect of garden terraces along its height.

Features and Amenities:

Altair comprises 400 residential units, ranging from 1,420 to over 5,200 square feet, including two-bedroom apartments, three-bedroom apartments, four-bedroom suites, and sky villas. Amenities include an infinity pool, a landscaped garden on the 63rd level, and a communal sky garden at its peak.
