South Asia Commercial and Logistics Hub
The South Asia Commercial and Logistics Hub (SACL) is an ambitious project set to become the largest commercial and logistics complex in South Asia, located within the Port of Colombo, Sri Lanka. This initiative aims to bolster Sri Lanka’s position as a pivotal logistics hub in the region. 
Key Features:
- Scale and Capacity: The hub will span approximately 5 million square feet, featuring an eight-floor building with a storage capacity of 530,000 cubic meters. It is designed to offer a comprehensive range of logistics services, including Less than Container Load (LCL) operations, Multi-Country Consolidation (MCC), Container Freight Station (CFS) services, general warehousing, and various value-added services.  
- Strategic Location: Situated adjacent to the Port City Colombo, the complex will have direct connectivity to the airport via the Port Access Elevated Highway, enhancing its accessibility and operational efficiency. 
Investment and Partnerships:
The project represents a significant foreign investment in Sri Lanka, with a total investment of $392 million. It is structured as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with a 50-year Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) agreement. The investment consortium comprises:   
- China Merchants Port Holdings (CMPort): Holding a 70% stake, CMPort is a prominent global port operator. 
- Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA): The national ports authority holds a 15% stake. 
- Access Engineering PLC: A leading Sri Lankan civil engineering enterprise, also holding a 15% stake.
